Claudia Antonelli was born in Rome. She studied in Rome, Brussels and Paris. She received awards in Venice (1970) and in Jerusalem (1973).

 

She plays as a soloist in recitals and with orchestras. She performed all over Europe, in Japan, Australia, Canada, USA and Brazil. She played in renown concert halls like Carnegie Hall, Queen Elisabeth Hall, Konzergebow, Wienerkonzerthaus, Salzfestspiele, Salzburger Mozarteum, Beethovenhalle. She worked with conductors like Igor Markewitch, Juri Temirkanov, Giuseppe Sinopoli, Eduardo Mata, Leopold Hager, Peter Maag, Hans Graf and players like Severino Gazzelloni, Jean-Pierre Rampal, Wolfgang Schulz, Dino Asciolla, Bruno Giuranna.

 

Many contemporary Italian composers like Petrassi, Donatoni, Sciarrino, Bussotti and Pennisi dedicated some of their works to her. Claudia Antonelli performed several first performances with Accademia di S. Cecilia and Italian Radio orchestras on Accademia Chigiana in Siena and at Spoleto Festival.

 

She recorded several CD’s, with classical and contemporary harp music, for Arts and Naxos. The large repertory of the artist includes works from Baroque to the present time, written for harp solo, harp with other instruments, as well as for harp with chamber and symphonic orchestra.
