Many critics and music lovers consider Marcin Dylla one of the most outstanding classical guitar players. He owes this position, among others, thanks to unusual number of awards at musical competitions. In 1996-2007 he was winner of 19 international guitar contests:

2004 - 1st Prize, International Guitar Competition “Printemps de la Guitare” in Charleroi (Belgium)

2006 - 1st Prize, International Guitar Competition in Aranda de Duero (Spain)

2007 - 1st Prize, International Guitar Competition “Guitar Foundation of America” in Los Angeles (USA)

2002, at the 7th International Guitar Convent in Alessandria, he was granted a “gold guitar”, musical critics’ award for the best coming young guitar player. Furthermore, he was honoured many times with awards of the audience and orchestras.

 

 

The fame of the artist in the international musical life is confirmed by his cooperation with outstanding musicians and orchestras, recitals in prestigious concert halls (Konzerthaus and Musikverein in Vienna, Auditorio Nacional in Madrid, Philharmonia in St. Petersburg, Kleinhans Music Hall in Buffalo N.Y. etc.), master classes, participation in music festivals, CD recordings: Polish Guitar Music (Settembrini, 1999), Sonatas - Ponce, Tedesco, Brouwer (RTVE, 2003), Sonatas - Rodrigo, José, Ginastera (Fleur du Son, 2005), Guitar Recital (NAXOS, bestseller of 2008).

 

Marcin Dylla belongs to the most popular and the most internationally requested Polish musicians. In the season 2008/2009 only he made 3 concertours of several weeks to the USA, Canada and Mexico, as well as performed in China, Germany, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Denmark, Rumania, Hungary, Lithuania and Poland, giving together almost 100 concerts and recitals. The prestigious magazine „Classical Guitar” published twice his photo on the front cover.

 

Marcin Dylla was born 1976 in Chorzów, Poland. He started to learn to play the guitar at the age of 8. In the years 1995-2000 he was studying at the State Academy of Music in Katowice in the guitar class of Ms. Wanda Palacz. He continued his musical education in Music Academy in Basel with professor Oscar Ghiglia, Music Academy in Freiburg with professor Sonja Prunnbauer, and Music Conservatory in Maastricht with Carlo Marchione.

 

The large repertoire of the artist comprises several recital programmes, as well as  concertos with orchestra like:

- Manuel Maria Ponce: Concierto del sur

- Joaquin Rodrigo: Fantasia para un gentilhombre

- Astor Piazzolla: Double Concerto

- Jerzy Bauer: Concertino
