Kaludi Kaludow

 

 

 

Kaludi Kaludow belongs to the world-recognized singers. He sings a beautiful voice called a south or verdiano tenor.

 

Born in Varna, Bulgaria. He graduated from the Academy of Music in Sofia. His stage debut as Alfred in Verdi’s “Traviata” had place in 1978 in the National Opera in Sofia.

 

Kaludi Kaludow performed, among others, in Teatro alla Scala, Wiener Staatsoper, best opera houses of Germany (Hamburg, Munich, Berlin, Frankfurt...), France (Paris), North America (Chicago, Huston, Montreal...), Italy, Finland, Spain, Switzerland, Russia, Corea, Bulgaria, Poland... He sang with vocalists like Maria Chiara, Mirella Freni, June Anderson, Cheryl Studer, Placido Domingo, Nicolai Ghiaurov, Renato Bruson, Sherrill Milnes..., under conductors like Claudio Abbado, Riccardo  Muti, Zubin Mehta, Horst Stein, Fabio Luisi...

 

Kaludi Kaludow recordings include several CD’s (Sony, Decca, Naxos...), a video production (Verdi’s “Attila” from Teatro alla Scala) and many radio an TV recordings in different countries.

 

In 1988 Kaludi Kaludow was invited by Jacek Nedzynski to perform in the Teatr Wielki State Opera of Poznan (“Rigoletto”and “Traviata”). Afterwards Kaludow has decided to go to stay in Poland. Today he is a “Citizen of the World” resident in Poland.

 

Since 1992 Kaludow has been artistic director of the Vocal Music Festival “Viva il canto” in Cieszyn, Poland. Kaludow is also an esteemed teacher with many recognized young singers. Since the season 2009/2010 Kaludi Kaludow has been artistic director of the Opera in Plovdiv (Bulgaria).
